I set up along the long wall opposite the main entrance so the dance floor fills the center bay and guests walking in see a full floor immediately. The string lights do most of the mood lighting, so I keep my dance wash subtle and warm to complement them, never overpower. One quirk only someone who has worked this room knows: the service door near the booth is the main caterer path, so I keep the booth tight to the wall to leave that lane clear all night.
